Office 2024 Activation Guide — Complete Step-by-Step

Before You Begin

Make sure you have your 25-character product key ready (check your email for the delivery message), a Microsoft account (create one free at account.microsoft.com if you don't have one), a stable internet connection for activation, and Windows 10 version 2004+ or Windows 11 installed on your PC.

Method 1: Activate via setup.office.com (Recommended)

This is the easiest method for first-time installation. Open your web browser and navigate to setup.office.com. Sign in with your Microsoft account. Click "Enter your product key" and type or paste your 25-character key. Microsoft verifies the key and links it to your account. Click Download to get the Office installer. Run the installer and wait for Office 2024 to download and install (15-30 minutes depending on internet speed). Once installed, open any Office app — it should be automatically activated since it's linked to your Microsoft account.

Method 2: Activate During Installation

If you've already downloaded the installer, run the Office setup file. During installation, you'll be prompted to enter your product key. Type or paste your 25-character key and click Next.
