Setting up your email accounts in Microsoft Outlook 2024 is straightforward, whether you use Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com, Exchange, or any other email provider. This guide walks you through the process step by step.
First Launch Setup
When you open Outlook 2024 for the first time, the setup wizard appears automatically. Enter your email address and click Connect. Outlook will attempt to auto-detect your email settings. For most major providers (Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo, Exchange), auto-detection works perfectly. Enter your password when prompted, and Outlook configures everything automatically.
Setting Up Gmail in Outlook 2024
Adding Gmail is simple with Outlook 2024's modern authentication. Click File > Add Account, enter your Gmail address, and click Connect. Setting Up Exchange/Microsoft 365
For business email through Exchange or Microsoft 365, enter your work email address. If your organization uses auto-discovery (most do), Outlook finds the Exchange server automatically. Setting Up IMAP/POP Manually
